Autism Speaks is seeking an experienced, results-driven Business Development Consultant to support the growth and success of our Workplace Inclusion Now (WIN) program.  

The role is part-time (25 hours) for one year (12 months) with a salary up to $75,000.  Preferred remote locations are Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL or Cleveland, OH.  Candidates must reside in USA.

This temporary role is ideal for a strategic and empathetic sales professional who thrives in a consultative environment and is passionate about advancing inclusion in the workplace.

The WIN program equips employers with the tools and training needed to build inclusive hiring practices, especially for individuals with autism and other disabilities. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in expanding access to these resources by securing new organizational partnerships nationwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate new business by enrolling companies and organizations into the WIN program.
  • Lead the entire sales process from prospecting and initial outreach to pitching, negotiating, and closing deals.
  • Build a strong, mission-aligned sales pipeline by identifying qualified leads through proactive outreach, referrals, and networking.
  • Communicate the value and impact of WIN services clearly and persuasively to a range of stakeholders.
  • Tailor proposals and presentations to address the unique needs of prospective partners.
  • Track performance, managing client data, and forecast sales outcomes using CRM tools.
  • Consistently achieve or surpass quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align outreach with broader program goals and priorities.
  • Prioritize efforts across a wide territory through effective time and task management.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage mission-minded clients, with a focus on long-term relationship building.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Highly organized, with strong follow-up skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience using sales data and performance metrics to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Comfort with virtual selling and navigating conversations with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7–10 years of dedicated sales experience, preferably in a consultative or mission-driven environment. 
  • Deep understanding of consultative sales, particularly in the context of social impact or organizational culture change.
  • Prior experience in DEI, disability inclusion, workforce development, or related sectors is highly valued.
Technical & Professional Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with StratusLive or similar CRM systems is a plus.
  • Must be able and willing to travel (20–30%) for in-person client meetings.
