Autism Speaks is seeking a Manager, Nationwide Peer-to-Peer Fundraising to lead the organization’s Fundraise Your Way DIY program, empowering individuals, community groups, and small businesses nationwide to create meaningful online fundraising initiatives to support the autism community across a national landscape online. This role oversees a wide range of  campaigns, from virtual and peer-to-peer events to community events and celebrations, encouraging individuals to share their personal story while also connecting with the mission. The manager will partner with strategy leads to execute the TeamUp Your Way and Empower Walk Your Way initiatives, while ensuring there is effective and consistent messaging and branding across the programs.

This role is responsible for achieving fundraising revenue goals, delivering high-quality participant experience, and supporting peer-to-peer events as needed. The ideal candidate is a relationship builder with a creative mindset and a strong ability to develop and manage relationships in virtual environments.

This individual will work from home and can be located anywhere in the country.

Key Responsibilities:
  • In partnership with the Nationwide Director, develop, operationalize, and execute a year-round strategic plan for Fundraise Your Way including annual goals, supporter journeys, resource development, and digital platform optimization.
    • Create and manage engagement tools such as templates, toolkits, email copy, social media assets, and best practice materials.
    • Collaborate with marketing colleagues to develop and promote storytelling content that highlights community fundraisers and inspire new supporters.
    • Identify and implement strategies to grow Fundraise Your Way, including new campaign ideas, partnership opportunities, and emerging trends in community driven fundraising.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Managers of Nationwide Peer-to-Peer Programs to execute strategic plans for the TeamUp Your Way and Empower Walk Your Way initiatives. Serve as the primary relationship manager for Fundraise Your Way, TeamUp Your Way, and Walk Your Way participants, delivering high-quality customer service by coaching and engaging supporters across all stages of the fundraising lifecycle.
    • Manage a vanity inbox and deliver responsive, high-quality customer service.
    • Proactively identify, escalate, and resolve issues impacting participant experience or program performance.
    • Collaborate with local Executive Directors and field staff to identify local stewardship and engagement opportunities.
  • Monitor performance against established revenue and participation goals (including an annual fundraising target of approximately $325k), and develop reports to track progress, identify trends, and surface risks or growth opportunities.
  • Serve as a power user of fundraising platforms, ensuring effective utilization, data accuracy, and reporting integrity.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, digital, web, and donor support teams to ensure consistent messaging and efficient operations for all events.

Position Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
  • Five or more years of experience in peer-to-peer fundraising, preferably with demonstrated expertise in do-it-yourself (DIY) fundraising programs and working closely with participant-led fundraisers.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Creative, proactive, and highly organized, with strong project management skills.
  • Knowledge of peer-to-peer fundraising, DIY fundraising trends, or third-party event management.
  • Strong relationship building skills with an ability to motivate and engage community supporters.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service and participant support.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to identify challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
  • Working knowledge of fundraising platforms and systems; experience with GoFundMe Pro/Classy preferred.
  • Experience with CRM and fundraising databases; Stratus Live preferred.
  • Demonstrated passion for mission-driven work.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to support programs and events.
  • This role includes minimal travel primarily related to events, however, may require flexibility to provide on site support across other peer to peer events as needed, which at times involves overnight stays; occasional travel for team meetings may also occur.
  • Event days include setting up and moving materials as well as being actively engaged onsite for prolonged periods
  • Regular use of a computer for extended periods of time.
